Pruning Basics for Trees and Shrubs

Comai as he shows you the basics of proper pruning, including what tools to use, techniques, timing, and common mistakes. This program will take place outside at the UVM Horticulture Farm, 65 Green Mountain Drive, So. Burlington.

Presenter’s bio:  A native Vermonter, VJ earned his BS in Community Forestry and Horticulture at UVM.  Following that, he was a nursery manager for 20 years, then became an Arborist Representative for Bartlett Tree Experts, managing residential and commercial properties throughout the state.  Now, he is the City of Burlington Arborist responsible for maintaining nearly 13,000 trees along rights-of-way and in park spaces and cemeteries in the city.  VJ is a certified arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture, is Tree Risk Assessment Qualified through the ISA, and is a member of Green Works, (Vermont Nursery and Landscape Association), volunteering with them for 16 years.
