Leaf Casting Workshop

Add an element of interest in your garden with a leaf casting you can make yourself.  In this easy and inexpensive hands-on workshop, Nancy Simson and Margaret Foster will teach you how to take a fresh leaf with well-defined vein structure and turn it into an object that will draw the eye beyond your plantings to another point of interest in your garden setting.  Your concrete object can be painted, used in the garden in its natural state, or become a gift for a gardening friend.  You’ll take your finished leaf cast home with you that day.  Bring leaves with thick veins like rhubarb if you can. Class limit is 10 so register early!
Members/ Non-members $20

This program will take place outside at the UVM Horticulture Farm, 65 Green Mountain Drive, So. Burlington.

Presenter’s Bio:  Nancy Simson has been a long-time member and friend of the Hort Farm.  A busy gardener herself, she still has had time to serve on our Annual Plant Sale team over the years, including donating some of her own plants to the sale, has attended various HF programs and helped us on work days.  You may also know her as the HF’s recently retired bookkeeper.

A few years ago she and her friend Meg Foster put together several hands-on workshops to create cast concrete garden leaf ornaments that were a big success.  She and Meg are back again and are eager to get their hands into the concrete to help you create your own garden features
